Tools for Star Trek Online captains.

STO Academy started as a home for Star Trek Online guides, tools, and walkthroughs, including a skill planner that a lot of captains bookmarked. It's back with a rebuilt Build Planner, a Combat Log Reader, and new guides, kept current by the community.

What STO Academy is

STO Academy is a free resource for Star Trek Online captains who want to understand their characters and ships, not just copy a build from a forum post. It started years ago as a site of guides, tools, and walkthroughs, and today it is built around two tools that work together: the Build Planner and the Combat Log Reader.

Use the Build Planner to lay out your skills, ship, equipment, bridge officers, duty officers, and traits in one place, with the game's own rules built in so you cannot slot something that is not legal. Then fly the build, upload your log to the Combat Log Reader, and see what it really does: your DPS, your peak DPS, your critical hit rate, and a breakdown of your damage by ability. Change one thing, run it again, and compare. Both tools are free, and neither needs an account to use.
